photography help?
okay so im teaching myself alot about photography since i cant go to school because ive had surgery. I bought a couple different films and speeds. i also bought a flash and a tripod.
but i dont know really much about what films to use and much about the flash. i read books but didnt find what i was looking for. I have a pentax k1000 and a maxwell DA-2000 multi-dedicated automatic electronic flash unit. Someone help! i also need help with the shutter speed and apeture
If you are using a dedicated flash for each of the cameras you mentioned, all you have to do is find out what the flash sync is for that camera .. some are as low as 1/50th of a second and others as high as 1/500th .. usually there is a red lightning blot on the cameras shutter speed adjustment knob.
Use that, daylight film and set your camera and flash for the ISO of the film. That should do it. Sometimes auto flash is called TTL and the exposure is determined by the light striking the film and turns off automatically when the film has had enough light.
If you flash is not an auto or TTL flash or one made for a different camera or by a different company, you may have to use the old manual calculation like we did in the past .. guide number divided by the distance @ a given f/stop (each flash was different)
